Christmas celebration Good or evil has been questions of some Christians and even non-Christians . In every celebration religious folks and theologians ask whether the 25th December holiday really celebrate the birth of the ‘son of God ‘ or the ‘sun-god’
The question to ask those theologians and other folks is “can a god be born in this earth?” . gods have been in existence before humans, so how will humans know the day a god started existing. If the day cannot be know then why say 25th December holiday holds its anchor on the sun-god?
From history and Bible records only Jesus was conceived by a virgin as the prophets of the old testament prophesied. So Jesus is the only God that came in human form. This means humans can decipher the day jesus was born though inaccurate.
From documentations found in North Africa dated back in the year 243 suggests that Jesus was born somewhere around March 28. And off-course most Christians know 25th December was not the actual day Jesus was born.
Is Christmas Celebration Good or evil ? why do Christians celebrate it
It is on no doubt that 25th December is a religious holiday observed by the sun-worshiping Romans. Before its adoption as Christmas, the sun worshiping Romans brutally persecuted Christians. As Roman Emperor Constantine choose to convert to Christianity owing to his dreams, he converted the 25th of December formally celebrated by pagans to the celebration of the birth of Christ
It known throughout the world that 25th December has played a major role to pagans. Some pagans even sacrifice children on that date. This is why people say Christmas is evil. The question to ask such people is how to you stop a bad habit? It is simply by replacing it with a good one. Assuming you injure people anytime you are angry, the best way to stop such habit is to walk away and go to a solitary place anytime you are angry.
Again, if a shrine is destroyed and a church building elected on that same ground, does it make the church evil?
Also before pagans started observing 25th of December as a ritual day, it has been in existence. So what the pagans did was just to convert a neutral day to an evil day. So nothing is wrong if Christians reconvert it to a good day
Finally, some Eastern Christian Churches celebrate Christmas on January 7. So what matters is your mindset doing the celebration. No day is evil on its own, everyday belongs to God
